A fence takes full sun, rain and dirt with nothing sheltering it. Paint straight over a weathered grey board or a dirty metal panel and it will peel inside two summers, so the washing and sanding is most of the job.

Grey, dried-out boards sanded back to something paint can grip, with loose boards and moisture damage flagged before we start.
Colorbond and metal
Faded or mismatched panels repainted on a metal system — cleaned thoroughly, with any unstable coating dealt with first.

Pedestrian and driveway gates, pool fencing, security fencing and decorative railings, with surface rust treated and primed.
Spray finishing
Fast, even coverage on palings, slats and metal. Everything nearby gets masked, and we do not spray in wind.
Decks and pergolas
Decking, handrails, privacy screens and pergolas, in paint or stain depending on the timber and how much sun it takes.

The front fence is in every listing photo. Often the gate and the street-facing run alone do the work of a full repaint.

We check the material, condition and access, and flag loose boards, rust or rot that need attention before coating.

A fixed price covering the preparation, the products and whether one side or both is included.
Wash and prepare
Cleaned, scraped, sanded and primed where it is needed, with everything nearby masked and covered.
Paint or stain applied
Sprayed for speed and evenness where conditions allow, brushed or rolled where overspray would be a problem.
Final check and clean-up
We inspect the finish, pull the coverings and leave the yard as we found it.

Does All Star Painting paint Colorbond fences?
Yes. Existing Colorbond fencing can often be repainted after it has been properly cleaned and prepared using coatings suitable for metal surfaces.
How much does fence painting cost?
The price depends on the fence length, height, material, condition, accessibility and amount of preparation required. Extensive masking may also affect the price when spray painting near buildings or neighbouring properties.
Is spray painting better than rolling?
Spraying often produces faster and more even coverage on corrugated metal fencing and large fence areas. Rolling or brushing may be more suitable for small sections, timber details or areas where overspray is difficult to control.
Can a rusty metal fence be painted?
Loose rust should not simply be covered with paint. Rusted sections generally need to be cleaned, treated and primed before the finish coats are applied.
Do you clean the fence before painting?
Yes. Cleaning is an important part of the preparation process. The required method depends on the material and condition of the fence.
Can both sides of a boundary fence be painted?
Yes, provided suitable access and permission are available. You may need to discuss the work with the neighbouring property owner before painting their side.
Can you match the fence to my roof or gutters?
A coordinating colour can usually be selected. Slight variations may occur because different surfaces and coating products reflect light differently.
Do plants need to be moved?
Plants close to the fence may need to be tied back, trimmed or temporarily protected so the painters can safely access the surface and prevent leaves from touching wet paint.
