These houses were built with face brick walls and painted timber everywhere else, and forty years on the split is stark: the brick is fine and the timber is not. Walls have been rolled over several times, often without the doors and trims being touched, so the enamel is yellowed and chipped against fresh wall colour. Bringing the trims up is what makes a repaint here look like a repaint rather than a touch-up, and it is the item most often left out of a cheap quote.
